Fuzzy logic-based multi-factor aided multiple-model filter for general aviation target tracking
A fuzzy logic-based multi-factor aided multiple-model filter (FLMAMMF) for General aviation (GA) maneuvering target tracking (MTT) is presented. The target category and meteorological information are introduced into the interacting multiple model (IMM) filter to perform GA target tracking. Fuzzy logic inference is employed in the proposed algorithm to reflect the complicated relationship betwee...
متن کاملVLSI based fuzzy logic controller enabled adaptive interactive multiple model for target tracking
Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) algorithm is proved to be useful in tracking maneuvering targets. The tracking accuracy of the IMM can be further improved by modifying IMM to change its transition probabilities adaptively. A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is designed to change the transition probabilities of IMM adaptively with innovation and rate of innovation as input parameters. The FLC selec...
متن کاملTarget tracking using fuzzy logic association
Multistatic active sonar systems are being developed for the mission of tracking enemy submarines in harsh underwater environments. This paper will focus on a revolutionary new method with which to track a target. A fuzzy logic based tracker has been developed which performs remarkably better than a Kalman filter tracker. This is accomplished through the use of additional, non-kinematic informa...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Logic Approach to Target Tracking
This paper discusses a target tracking problem in which no dynamic mathematical model is explicitly assumed. A nonlinear filter based on the fuzzy If-then rules is developed. A comparison with a Kalman filter is made, and empirical results show that the performance of the fuzzy filter is better. Intensive simulations suggest that theoretical justification of the empirical results is possible.

Vast quantities of EO and IR data are collected on airborne platforms (manned and unmanned) and terrestrial platforms (including fixed installations, e.g., at street intersections), and can be exploited to aid in the global war on terrorism. However, intelligent preprocessing is required to enable operator efficiency and to provide commanders with actionable target information. To this end, we ...
